Counseling Department

Welcome! On this page, you will find information about the guidance and counseling program at Boswell Elementary, the counselors, and helpful resources.

As professional school counselors we work hard to implement a comprehensive guidance and counseling program. Our developmental program addresses the academic, career, and personal/social needs of our students, to create a positive and safe learning climate at Boswell Elementary. At the same time, we also assist students as they face issues and resolve problems to encourage healthy development. One of the ways in which we will do this is through weekly guidance lessons which will include character development. The lessons are designed to help develop the skills children need to get along with others and to make appropriate choices.

As the school counselor, my goal is to help every student in our district grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I provide a safe and welcoming space where students can talk about their feelings, set goals, and develop skills for success both in and out of the classroom. Through individual counseling, small groups, and classroom lessons, I focus on emotional regulation, friendship skills, decision-making, and personal growth.

I also guide students in exploring their interests and strengths through career exploration activities that help them connect what they’re learning in school to future goals. Together, we discuss important skills and dispositions—such as grit, integrity, and responsibility—that prepare them for lifelong success.

I partner with teachers, families, and many community resources to ensure each student receives the support they need to thrive. Whether it’s helping a student manage stress, navigate conflict, or plan for the future, I’m here to encourage resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging for every child.
